ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE ...
The King Crab Fishing Experience in Puerto Almanza offers an unforgettable experience that combines the scenic beauty of the journey to the fishing village with the excitement of participating in the collection of king crabs and the gastronomic excellence of the region.
The journey begins by leaving the hotel and taking a 75 km trip to Puerto Almanza. This picturesque journey takes you through glacier valleys with imposing snow-capped peaks, winding rivers, lagoons, and peat bogs, providing travelers with a unique visual spectacle.
After about an hour and a half of fascinating travel in our comfortable van with an expert guide, we reach the home of local fishermen who will be our hosts in this authentic experience. They will guide us through the entire process, from preparation to the culmination of the king crab collection.
With the assistance of experienced guides, we prepare to embark on the boat and explore the local king crab fishery. During the approximately 15-minute navigation, we will have the exciting opportunity to lift the traps and collect our own king crabs, which will then be the delicious specialty of our lunch.
Back at the cozy restaurant of our fishing hosts, we will enjoy a delicious three-course lunch. Starting with the “Beagle Dip,” followed by the exquisite king crab, and culminating in a dessert that will delight our taste palate.
After this unique day at the end of the world, we will embark on the return journey to Ushuaia, carrying with us the indelible memories of an experience that blends adventure, nature, and local cuisine.
