The most complete sailing option that includes Lobos Island, Birds, Lighthouse and penguin watching from the catamaran
This excursion includes a navigation on the Sea Lions island, the Island of the birds, the Lighthouse Les Eclaiureus. Once we leave the lighthouse island, we navigate eastwards, where you can see excellent views of the Channel and the mountains. During the navigation, we identify the Puerto Almanza on the Argentine side, an artisanal fishing village par excellence, the main product obtained by these latitudes is the crab and mussels; and the Puerto Williams Naval Base on the Chilean side. Arriving at Isla Martillo, engines are turned off on the shore of the beach to watch from the catamaran the penguins in their habitat.
In this island two species of penguins coexist, the Magellanic that reaches a height between 35 and 45 cm, 3 kg of weight, the head is black with a white strip that part of the eye surrounding the ears and the chin to join in the throat, the color of its plumage is black and white and helps it to camouflage itself in the deep sea, its fur helps it maintain its body heat is a compact body thick fat layer and walk in a funny way; and the Papua penguin that reaches a height between 75 and 90 cm being the fastest in the water, the males have a maximum weight of 8 kg.
Once returning to the city of Ushuaia starts, the navigation will be closer to the coast of the Channel, which allows you to practice sighting of the flora and fauna of the area. It is also possible to appreciate the Estancia Tunnel and Estancia Remolino, where the semi-sunken hull of the Monte Sarmiento Steamboat has been located since 1912.
One of the final views that the tour gives is the mountain range that surrounds the city of Ushuaia. It is an extremely beautiful route both from the historical and natural point of view.
